Also posted here are the diary entries of Warren G. Bean, my great grandfather. Warren G. Bean lived from 1866 till 1949. He was a farmer and a Mennonite bishop for the Franconia Conference of the Mennonite church in Montgomery County Pennsylvania. My hope is that others might take some inspiration. Warren started farming on his own in the late 19th century; I started in the late 20th.

From Warren's Account book:
How to destroy worms in Apple trees. Bore a hole into the center of the tree then fill the hole sulphur then drive a wooden pin in said hole and will kill all worms thereafter.
